My Dreams and Visions

The title to this post is from the hymn with the same name. It was written by a man, Horatio G. Spatford, who through a series of unfortunate events lost his business, then his 4 daughters in a shipwreck so that just he and his wife remained. It is at this time he penned the words the the hymn we all know.

The reason I’ve posted this story is because of a dream I had the night of 06/29/2016. In the dream I seemed to be in some sort of worship service. While there my attention was drawn to a young frail looking woman. The woman was worshipping the Lord with every ounce of strength she possessed. I remember talking to her and I noticed a large growth at the base of her neck. I questioned her about it and she told mr that it was a melanoma and that…

  1. I was driving to Marshall’s to look for some photo frames. I had my iPhone on shuffle and these really sappy love songs kept playing, like “Endless Love” with Diana Ross and Lionel Richie, etc. I thought how Clare said Holy Spirit can shuffle songs and speak to us, and thought to myself, “I wonder if Jesus if playing these songs for me. What a romantic He is! He really is in love with me. Could He be possibly playing them for me and speaking to me?… …Nah”. But still, something in my spirit imagined Him playing them for me. So I parked and went to go inside the store, I saw a man standing in front out of place, looking like he needed something, so I smiled at him. He asked me if I understood spanish and I said “no” because I’m not fluent, and he got sad. But I can get by with a few words so I said “Un poco” (a little). Then out of his sentences, I understood “cambiar” (change), “tengo hambre” (I’m hungry), and something about ‘not working’, or ‘can’t find work’, followed by a very, humble smile. This man was genuine and his meekness- adorable. So I gave him some money and somehow we managed to understand each other. Magically, I spoke and understood just enough to communicate with him. I pointed him in the right direction for food and he shook my hand and was grateful. So after I went inside, I went to the frames and guess what I saw? A pretty frame with beveled mirror edges popped out at me first thing when I walked in the isle and the insert wasn’t a photo, but a quote which I’ve never heard of before that read nice and big “And suddenly all the love songs were about you..” 😍 -JB
